First MiG-35 nears delivery for Egypt

Egypt appears to be close to receiving the first of its RAC MiG-35 fighters, with a lead example having been photographed during flight testing near Moscow late last month. Images show a twin-seat trainer bearing the registration 811 being flown in Egyptian air force livery from Ramenskoye airport on 31 March.

Test Flights of Russia's MiG-35 to Begin in January 2017

Flight tests of Russia's fourth-generation MiG-35 jets will get underway next month, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Friday. The Russian Mikoyan MiG-35 (Fulcrum-F) jet fighter is a further development of the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-29K/KUB. The first batch of the test version was initially expected to be handed to the Russian Defense Ministry by year-end.

Indian Navy retires Sea Harriers, inducts Russian MiG-29K/KUBs

After 33 years of service the Indian Navy's (IN's) vintage fleet of 11 BAE Systems Sea Harriers was formally retired in an elaborate ceremony on 11 May at INS Hansa, the navy's shore-based facility at Dabolim in the southwestern state of Goa. At the same time, the IN announced in a statement that the Russian-built MiG-29K/KUBs would succeed the vertical/short take-off and landing (V/STOL) single-seat Sea Harrier FRS Mk 51 and T. Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG (RAC MiG) started the flight test program for the Russian Navy's MiG-29K fighters, with the first production MiG-29KUB two-seater for the Russian Navy.
