The F-35A Lightning ll Demonstration Team is an Air Combat Command single-ship demonstration team to showcase the U.S. Air Force's F-35A Lightning II fifth-generation fighter. The team is made up of one combat-ready pilot and fourteen Airmen, all assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base. On February 29, 2020, Capt. Kristin “BEO” Wolfe was appointed as the F-35A Demonstration Team’s pilot and commander for the 2020 and 2021 air show season.
The F-35A Lightning ll is a stealthy, multi-role, all-weather air-to-air and surface attack fighter. The F-35 Demo Team flies a single-ship demonstration profile lasting approximately 18 minutes using a combat-ready F-35A belonging to the 388th FW. The team is also qualified to perform formation flights with various legacy aircraft for the U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight program.
The U.S. Air Force's Air Combat Command first started scheduled demonstrations of the type with the foundation of the F-35 Heritage Flight Team in 2018 participating in about a dozen events. In 2019 the F-35A Demo Team was established as a Air Combat Combat single-ship demonstration team flying at approximately 20 airshows during the air show season that year.
