Sukhoi delivers 6 Su-35S fighters

Sukhoi delivered the first 6 production standard Su-35S multi-role fighter aircraft to the Ministry of Defense of Russia on December 28, 2012. The official hand-over took place at the Sukhoi’s Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft production association (KnAAPO). Sukhoi Company announced the delivery completes the 2012 State Defense Order for the Su-35S.
The Russian Ministry of Defense ordered 48 new-built Su-35s as part of a larger contract to equip the Russian Air Force with new and modern aircraft, signed on August 18, 2009. All 48 Su-35 are to be delivered by 2015. The Su-35S is the latest in the Su-27 Flanker family and provides the RuAF with a modern multi-role fighter to bridge the gap between the current fleet of upgraded fighters and the fifth-generation fighter resulting from the PAK-FA program's Sukhoi T-50 development.

Red Arrows launch 60th Diamond Season plans
SIXTY seasons of dynamic displays inspiring millions of people will be celebrated by the Red Arrows in 2024.
The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team officially launched their diamond anniversary campaign today – including unveiling special artwork that will be carried on each of the team’s distinctive Hawk jets.
A new nine-aircraft show is part of plans for the milestone season, featuring manoeuvres not seen for a generation in the Red Arrows’ display routine, which changes each year.
Also announced today is a five-week overseas tour by the team, staged later this summer, to help mark the centennial of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

RAF Sentinel R1 aircraft conducts last operational flight
