Biało-Czerwone Iskry (Red-White Sparks)

Country Poland
Base 41. Baza Lotnictwa Szkolnego, Dęblin
Aircraft 5-7 x TS-11 Iskra MR

The Polish Air Force aerobatic team Biało-Czerwone Iskry (White-Red Sparks) also known as Team Iskry flies formation displays with up to seven PZL TS-11 Iskra jet trainers painted in a national red and white livery.

In 1969 the 60. Lotniczy Pułk Szkolny (Training Aviation Regiment) at Radom formed the Rombik display team flying four TS-11 Iskra jets of the regiment on special occasions until being disbanded in 1981. Re-established during the 1980s, the four-ship Iskra team was officially named Zespół Akrobacyjny (Aerobatic Team) Iskry in 1991. The TS-11s received the red-and-white paint scheme and were disarmed and equipped with new radios and smoke generator. In 1993 the team was expanded to nine aircraft, including two solos. The team stood down following a fatal crash of one aircraft during a weather check on November 11, 1998. The team's Iskras received a cockpit upgrade and moved to Dęblin. In 2000, Team Iskry was re-established as the Biało-Czerwone Iskry (Red-White Sparks) with the 1.Osrodek Szkolenia Lotniczego (1.OSL - 1st Flying Training Centre) at Dęblin, since 2010 the 41.Baza Lotnictwa Szkolnego. The Biało-Czerwone Iskry flew with up to seven aircraft; six-ship main formation and one solo.

For 2014, Biało-Czerwone Iskry will fly five aircraft, four-ship main formation and the solo.
