The Canadian Snowbirds formation display team, officially 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, represents the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the Canadian Armed Forces at air shows and events.
The Snowbirds are based at CFB Moose Jaw in Saskatchewan, Canada, where they spend the winter months. Starting in May until mid-October each year the team performs around 40 displays or fly-overs across North America. The Snowbirds fly the Canadair CT-114 Tutor, a Canadian-built jet that was used by the Canadian Forces as a basic pilot-training aircraft form 1963 until 2000. The display is flown by the nine display pilots using nine Tutors, additionally the Snowbirds have two jets that are flown by the Coordinators which may be used as spare aircraft for the performance.
