Russia to deliver 12 modernized Su-30K fighters to Angola by early 2018

Russia will fulfill the contracted delivery of 12 modernized Su-30K fighter jets to Angola by early 2018, Aleksandr Vorobei, the deputy CEO of the 558 Aviation Repair Plant in Belarus, told Sputnik on Tuesday. "So far, two [Su-30Ks have been delivered to Angola], there is a delivery schedule, and its fulfillment has been launched as for now. I think that the deliveries will be completed by early next year," Vorobei said.

Su-33 jet crashes while landing on Admiral Kuznetsov carrier

Russia’s Su-33 fighter jet crashed in the Mediterranean while landing on The Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement obtained by TASS. "After performing a combat mission over Syria a Su-33 fighter-jet overran the runway while trying to land on The Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier. The arresting cable’s rupture was the reason," the report says. The pilot ejected himself and was promptly taken on board The Admiral Kuznetsov by search and rescue service. His life is not in danger, the Defense Ministry said. "Deck aircraft keep performing their missions," the report runs. The Russian aircraft carrier-led group keeps operating in the Mediterranean in accordance with the long voyage plan.

Russian Navy plans to take delivery of more than 50 Su-30SM fighters by 2020

Naval aviation of Russian navy will take delivery of more than 50 Su-30SM fighters by 2020, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Commander of the naval aviation, Major General Igor Kozhin. “The first Su-30SM fighter was delivered to naval aviation of Russian navy in July 2014. Last year the naval aviation took delivery of three Su-30SM aircraft; two more jets of the type were delivered to the navy on August 17th 2015 and three more ones will be delivered in September – October 2015. It is planned that naval aviation of Russian navy will take delivery of more than 50 Su-30SM fighters by 2020,” he said.
